Our good friends at Captain’s Nautical Supplies have relocated the business to 1120 NW Ballard Way in Seattle. The store located in a historic building fits the 119-year-old heritage of Captain’s Nautical Supplies―the go-to map and book dealer for Pacific Northwest mariners.

Jim Wheat, the new owner (for about the last 14 months), uses his extensive retail experience to bring a fun retail experience for mariners and travelers alike. And, as always, the knowledgeable staff (many have been there for years), is ready to provide expert help. The new store is impressive and a nautical destination store worth exploring.

And for us, a trip there, also means a beer thirty stop at Maritime Pacific Brewery’s Jolly Roger Taproom for a Nightwatch Dark Amber, and filling our boat grocery list at Ballard’s Trader Joe’s.

So, congratulations, Jim, Jon, Sue Ann and the rest of the Captain’s Nautical Supplies staff for surviving the move! We are looking forward to hearing about the interesting things you found tucked away in the old store during the move at the Seattle Boat Show.

If you are going to the Seattle Boat Show, stop by the Captain’s Nautical Supply booth on the south corner of the mezzanine level near the Parking Garage entrance, and say hello to the Captain’s Nautical Supplies crew and ours, Carrie and MJ. There will be specials on the Waggoner Cruising Guide and all of the Fine Edge nautical books.

In February, we are offering boating training classes at Captain’s Nautical Supply, and will announce the dates on WaggonerGuide.com soon.
