Greenland dogs! Some tourist trivia: This is the traditional breed of sled dogs here. To keep the breed from mixing no other breeds of dogs are allowed above the polar circle on the west coast. They only "work" during the winter. During the summer puppies run around freely while the adult dogs taken to small islands (photo #3) or put on a chain.
We've been anchored next to an island where a bunch of dogs live and it's quite a show each time a boat arrives to feed them!
Qeqertarsuaq! What's the first thing a Finn will do after a big successful accomplishment? Of course a sauna and a few well deserved beers!

(Also works if not successful!). We are also overjoyed to find some familiar things in the local store: rye knäckebröd, salty liquorice and marinated herring! Yummy!
